Magical Moments

There’s something wonderfully uplifting about the small, simple moments that fill December with joy. Cosy afternoons, twinkly evenings, acts of kindness and little traditions that make the countdown to Christmas feel truly magical. This year, we wanted to celebrate those moments with you.

So we’ve created Kite’s Magical Moments - a set of 12 festive activities designed to bring families together throughout December.

And if you join in you will be entered into our giveaway, where one lucky family will win our fabulous festive bundle, delivered in plenty of time for Christmas. Full details of how to enter are at the bottom of this page.

Whether you dip into a few or enjoy all twelve, we hope they add a spark of joy to your home this season.

Wrap up warm and head outdoors to explore the beauty of winter. See how many seasonal treasures you can spot - frosty leaves, a red berry, a pinecone or a red post box.

Turn down the lights, put on your fancy clothes and turn up the festive tunes.

Gather everyone together for a relaxed evening of laughter and friendly competition.

Here are some free and fun games the whole family can enjoy:

The 30-second doodle game – set a timer and each draw part of a creature or character, folding the paper over before passing it on. Reveal your masterpiece at the end.

Simon Says – a classic that gets everyone moving.

Charades – act out festive films, animals, household objects or Christmas characters.

Card games – old favourites like Snap, Go Fish, Rummy or Matching Pairs.

Balloon tennis – make DIY rackets using paper plates and wooden spoons, then see how long you can keep the rally going with a balloon.

Themed bingo – create bingo cards using themes like Christmas, nature, music or household items.

Scavenger dash – set a one-minute timer and find items around the house that match a prompt (something red, something round, something that jingles).

The whisper challenge – one person mouths a festive phrase while the others try to guess it.

Choose something you’ve outgrown and pass it on to brighten someone else’s Christmas. It’s a simple act that can make a big difference, especially at this time of year.
